We are currently hiring a Family Law Clerk to support our client in their busy, downtown Kitchener office.

**This position is a fully onsite role**

Responsibilities

As the Family Law Clerk your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating with clients and external legal firms via phone and email
  • Drafting, preparing and organizing various documents (such as court applications, motions, briefs, and statements etc)
  • Opening and closing files as well as billing, docketing time and collection of accounts
  • Drafting letters, dictation, transitions, managing calendarscript
  • Providing other legal administrative support as required
  • Overtime may be necessary to prepare for trial and appeals

Qualifications

  • Must have previous experience working in a family law office
  • Successful completion of a law clerk/paralegal training program or relevent, equivalent work experience
  • Outstanding organization and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
  • Must have outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to interact with clients with a high level of professionalism
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Great communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience using PC Law, Divorce Mate highly preferred
