Contractor, Specialty CAD – Liaison

The Specialty CAD Liaison role is focused on efficient and effective incorporation of change into the Technical Data Package. The role interfaces with the Engineering Liaison team and is the primary source of CAD support for the investigation and development of change concepts.

  • Perform as integral member of ED&T Design Services Specialty CAD team.
  • Incorporate engineering Change Orders (COs) into existing Technical Data Package (TDP).
  • Ensure changes consider Fit, Form, and Function criteria to ensure compliance to Configuration Management principles.
  • Ensure changes are compliant to regulatory requirements and bear appropriate markings.
  • Assist Change Coordinator to determine impact of change.
  • Provide insights to Check and Library teams discovered during change process.
  • Assist in the definition and collection of quality metrics associated with Change.
  • Support Technical Data Package development and release.
  • Assist in the development of departmental processes, standards and related documentation.
  • Help provide insights that lead to the reduction in change volume.

Responsibilities

Secondary Job Elements:

  • Support the Design Services Library team with the creation and release of Control drawings.
  • Assist with standard parts creation and publishing content into the Teamcenter Classification database.
  • Assist Check team to verify completeness, consistency and quality of new and updated design package submittals.
  • Support Data Transfer and Data Marking processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • College diploma in Electrical or Mechanical field
  • Minimum 1-2 years of practical experience modelling and drafting using NX CAD software or equivalent.
  • Experience with Siemens Teamcenter, Oracle, and/or other Product Lifecycle Management and Enterprise systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication, organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Goal oriented and able to work under time sensitive/demanding conditions.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Summary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of design experience utilizing CAD tools in a related industry
  • Knowledge of military drawing practices including MIL-STD-100, MIL-STD-31000, and related ASME Y14 series standards.
  • Knowledge of the application and interpretation of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) from piece parts to complex assemblies.
