About the Role and Job: Role: Jira Developer & Migration Consultant Location: Canada (Remote) Hire Type: Fulltime / Contract Job Description: Looking for a skilled and experienced JIRA Developers & Migration Specialist to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in the successful migration of our Atlassian JIRA instances from a Data Center environment to the Atlassian Cloud (SaaS). The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Atlassian tools, cloud architecture, and proven experience in planning, executing, and managing similar migration projects. This position demands technical proficiency, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to ensure a seamless transition. Responsibilities Actively participate in the planning, execution, and management of the JIRA and Confluence migration from Data Center to Atlassian Cloud. Contribute to the development and implementation of comprehensive migration strategies and plans. Execute data transfer, system configuration, and user setup within the Atlassian Cloud environment. Address and resolve post migration tasks, including adjustments to screens, schemas, and workflows. Utilize Atlassian migration tools (e.g., JIRA Cloud Migration Assistant, Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant) to facilitate efficient data transfer and system configuration. Identify and proactively mitigate potential migration challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Apply a strong understanding of JIRA architecture, migration methodologies, and cloud technologies throughout the migration process. Collaborate effectively with various teams to ensure alignment and successful migration outcomes. Contribute to the documentation of migration processes and best practices. Mandatory Skills 7+ years of demonstrable experience migrating JIRA from Data Center to Cloud environments. Solid understanding of JIRA configuration and development principles, with experience in managing global and local configurations within migration projects. Proficiency in utilizing Atlassian migration tools (e.g., JIRA Cloud Migration Assistant) for data transfer and system configuration. Comprehensive understanding of JIRA architecture, various migration strategies, and cloud technologies. Experience with pre migration activities such as instance planning, sanity checks, documentation, and user validation. Experience with post migration activities including application link checks, DC integration checks, and log audits. Preferred Skills Basic SQL query knowledge. Experience with Groovy scripting, Script Runner, or Python. Knowledge of JIRA Cloud and Data Center features, including challenges and solutions. Experience with integration of plugins and advanced mappings. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. 7+ years of practical experience in JIRA development or migration. More detailed description below: It's not an administrator or developer role. It's a Jira migration role. Need experience in Jira Migration from Jira Data Center to Jira Cloud / not from Jira Server to Jira Cloud or Jira Server to AWS cloud or Jira Data Center to AWS cloud or Jira instance to instance migration Jira pre migration activities experience - Instance planning, Sanity check, Documentation, User validation, mapping, etc. Jira post migration activities experience - application links checks, DC integration checks, unit testing, sanity checks, random mapping checks. log audits etc. JCMA experience - He should be well versed with the tool / know what tabs are there / how to do deployments and end point mappings and other features leveraging the tools Integration experience - with plugins, advanced mappings, behaviors, synchronization, etc. Basic SQL query knowledge Groovy scripting / script runner or python Know how to work as Jira cloud admin / knowledge on Jira cloud features / knowledge on Jira Data Center features / challenges with top of the shelf features and how to overcome / which features work well in what. The pay range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000* per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
