School Nurse - RPN/LPN
Monday to Friday
Approximately 30 hours per week
The Ottawa Branch of Bayshore Home Care Solutions is proud to partner with CHEO on providing care and support to children and families who need home and school care services.
We are searching for School Nurses (RPN/LPN) to join our amazing team. This unique opportunity let’s our School Nurses be essential to our pediatric clients and helping them attend regular school while receiving best in class nursing care.
If you are a lifelong learner, this opportunity will allow you to take on shifts in the community setting to further develop your nursing skills while the schools are closed for PD days, holidays and of course summer vacation.
When Is The Shift
Our School Nurses enjoy an environment that provides the opportunity to maximize your nursing skills in a Monday to Friday time frame. The shifts can be anywhere between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm based on the client’s requirements. Shifts may vary depending on the medical needs of the child and the hours of the school the child attends. Shifts average between 20-40 hours per week, dependent on needs required. Should you not have enough hours due to your child not attending school, community visit nursing will be offered to you.

Your day will be dedicated the wellness of the child you are supporting. Enteral feeds and tacheometry’s are typical in this environment.

As the primary care planner to your clients, you have the autonomy and flexibility to provide a holistic approach to care while providing a child the opportunity to thrive in a school environment.

- You have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing with a Registered Practical Nurse Certification
- You hold a current nursing license in good standing with CNO
- You have proof of a current negative TB test (within the last year)
- You must have a valid G class driver’s license and continuous access to a registered vehicle
- You have a current/clear vulnerable sector check
- You possess excellent assessment, documentation, verbal, and communication skills
