Johnston Equipment is seeking a Cost Control Manager in the Road Service department to oversee cost-saving initiatives in the Central Region’s Comprehensive Fixed Price Maintenance/ Premier contracts, warranty processing, and rentals 19% programs. You will also assist in mitigating costs in used parts inventories by aiding in customer site inspections and truck condition surveys, which will help to find the best way to serve customers in the most cost-efficient way.

In this position, you will monitor, forecast, and confirm that expenditures are within determined budgets by creating various cost reports to understand which areas of the business require cost minimization, and be proactive in implementing strategies for cost-cutting measures. You can work independently on short-term and long-term projects as well as take advantage of others’ areas of expertise through utilization of department resources to understand where the business is going from a financial perspective and collectively work towards company objectives.

You’ll be able understand which areas of the business are underperforming or thriving by interpreting data trends to make budget recommendations, provide regular status updates, actively participate in quarterly reviews, and present your compiled information, monthly progress, and cost-mitigation proposals to senior executives and regional management.

The successful incumbent has experience and knowledge in conducting various cost analyses to make comparisons and inferences, weigh alternatives and possible outcomes, and make decisions on improving cost performance.
