Mental Health Care Worker
The Program:
PCLA delivers residential psychosocial rehabilitation programs for adult individuals with mental illnesses. The focus is on promoting personal growth and self-reliance through life skills development within a community setting. Our houses are licensed as a registered mental health residential care facility under the Community Care and Assisted Living Act
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager of Care, the Health Care Worker assists and supports residents with mental illness. This includes support with activities of daily living, meal preparation and working toward individual goals outlined in their Recovery Plan. This position requires the administration of medications, documentation and following programs, policies and procedures.

Salary and Benefits: From $27.92 to $29.60 per hour with a generous benefits package and Pension Plan (upon eligibility).
Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong understanding of the theoretical and practical applications of PSR principles and approaches including the practical application of harm reduction strategies in mental health and addictions.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Qualifications
Secondary School Graduation
Mental Health Worker &/or PSR certificate or the equivalent of education and experience
One year of recent related experience
Proficiency with oral and written communication in English
Strong interpersonal skills and communication
Current Food Safe Certificate
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Recent Criminal Record Check
