Estimator The Estimator is responsible for quantity take offs of Window Wall, Curtain Wall and Railing Systems. Reports directly to the Director of Estimating on all matters regarding the projects. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Education

Estimator The Estimator is responsible for quantity take offs of Window Wall, Curtain Wall and Railing Systems. Reports directly to the Director of Estimating on all matters regarding the projects. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Education
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology and Construction Management; and
- Construction Estimation Certification is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2+ years of working experience with Glazing Systems.
- Prepare work to be estimated by gathering drawings, specifications and reports;
- Review scope of work, specifications, and reports;
- Prepare quantity take-offs for Window Systems and Panels;
- Prepare quantity take-offs for Railings Systems and Balcony Dividers;
- Obtain quotes from suppliers;
- Assist to draft bid proposals for the review of the Director of Estimating;
- Attend internal scope of work meeting with the Director of Estimating;
- Read reports such as wind pressure studies, acoustic reports and energy modeling reports;
- Note discrepancies in the tender information and bring it forward to the engineering department for discussions on a resolution;
- Managing the administration regarding change orders and deviations from the original contract;
- Responsible for meeting deadlines;
- Represent State as requested, in business with customers, consultants, contractors and suppliers; and
- Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Estimating.
