Salary Range:
$52,000 - $85,000 (Dependent on experience). This position is also eligible for overtime pay (paid at time and a half), discretionary performance bonuses, and holiday bonuses, increasing the estimated total compensation wage range to $55,000 - $95,000.
Location: Vancouver Island, BC
Victoria Office is located at 330 - 1515 Douglas St, Victoria, BC.
Nanaimo Office is located at 105 - 238 Franklyn St., Nanaimo, BC.
Candidate Profile
The Structural BIM Technologist works as part of a team, under the direction of an experienced drafter/BIM Leader, to produce drawings on a variety of buildings including commercial, residential, institutional and sports/recreation complexes. The successful candidate is a self-motivated, fast learner with the desire to continually learn and grow. A commitment to providing exceptional client service and developing technical expertise to deliver practical, creative solutions is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Develop building models and drawings from general conceptual information.
- Co-ordinate RJC's structural Revit model / drawings with other disciplines on projects.
- Provide project drafting and be accountable for schedule and efficiency.
- Be accountable to Project Engineers for drawing production and quality per RJC standards.
- Work as part of a team, to produce drawings / Revit Model on a variety of projects.
- Help the design be more easily communicated through your drawings
Education:
- Diploma in Civil/Structural drafting or technology from accredited University or technical college
- Courses in structural design, concrete, and steel considered an asset
- Must have taken courses that focus on Revit software or related programs
- Working experience or education background with AutoCAD and REVIT
- Experience in construction and/or consulting services considered as a significant asset
- Fast learner who can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Team player who is able to work with minimal direction
- Hard worker who is ready to assume responsibility quickly
- Inquisitive, clear thinker who can determine what work is required and who can draw rational conclusions from information available
- Attentive to detail and have a desire to grow professionally and personally
- Able to conceptualize structural and architectural details in three dimensions
