What you can expect to do here:

  • Integration: Work with our water treatment group and other related groups in Canada and across North America, developing required relationships through proactive verbal and written communication.
  • Project Leadership: Take on the role of Project Manager and/or Process Lead Engineer-of-Record for various projects, ensuring quality delivery on-time and on-budget.
  • Business Development: Engage in strategic business development, establish and build client relationships, and lead proposal development to win treatment projects and maintain project backlog.
  • Communication & Coordination: Collaborate with team members, other WSP groups, equipment vendors, clients, and sub-contractors.
  • Technical Expertise: Prepare technical reports, specifications, process schematics, and layout drawings, including reviewing deliverables produced by junior and intermediate colleagues.
  • Analysis & Design: Conduct analysis and design for water treatment projects, including process and technology selection, equipment sizing and specification, mass balance, hydraulic analysis, and 3D layout.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentoring and on-the-job training for junior and intermediate colleagues.
  • Support: Provide project support for other senior staff as required and support the management team with budgeting, strategy development and execution, staff reviews, and delivering training programs.
  • Consulting Engineering: Primarily office-based consulting engineering work with some opportunities for business travel and fieldwork.


What you'll bring to WSP:

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in chemical engineering.
  • Professional Registration: Currently registered as P.Eng. in a Canadian province.
  • Experience: 15+ years relevant working experience in consulting engineering, with required experience in water treatment for industrial and mining applications. Experience in metallurgy is an asset.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with HYSIM/HYSIS or OLI or Wave software packages is an asset.
  • Project Management: Strong project management and discipline lead skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to assist project delivery with complex teams, and with mentoring and training colleagues.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills in English, with French skills being an asset.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills in both information management and time management.
  • Business Development: Experienced in business development and building client relationships.
  • Project Delivery: Experienced with project management and project delivery according to quality standards.
  • Leadership: Proven record of independently leading successful projects.
  • Additional Skills: Detailed design, procurement, construction management, and commissioning experience is an asset. Graduate degree(s) are an asset.
  • Valid driver's license.


Compensation

Salary range (in British Columbia): $124,800 - $171,600

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
