At NorLand Limited, we’re seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support the planning and delivery of civil and infrastructure projects across our business units. This position is ideal for someone with 2–5 years of experience in project scheduling and controls who is looking to build on their skills in a collaborative, fast-paced construction environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6, assisting in cost tracking, and ensuring accurate reporting of project performance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Projects
- Support project teams by tracking and reporting progress against the baseline schedule
- Assist in identifying critical path activities and potential scheduling risks
- Help integrate schedule and cost data for reporting and forecasting purposes
- Contribute to monthly schedule updates and reporting for internal stakeholders
- Participate in project setup by assisting with scheduling and controls input during handover and kickoff meetings
- Coordinate with estimators, project managers, and finance personnel to support cost tracking and forecasting
- Maintain organized records of schedule changes and ensure proper documentation of approved adjustments
- Assist with the implementation of earned value management practices on applicable projects
- Support the tracking of scope changes and their impact on project schedules
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to project planning and controls
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2–5 years of experience in project scheduling or project controls, preferably within construction or infrastructure
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project is required
- A diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is preferred
- Strong knowledge of scheduling fundamentals and an understanding of the critical path method (CPM)
- Familiarity with earned value management and progress tracking techniques
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and reporting tools; knowledge of Infor LN, Hard Dollar, or MS Project is an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional project teams
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment
Compensation:
The role is a permanent, full-time position with a typical salary range of $85,000-$100,000 per annum. The starting salary will be based on the successful candidate’s competencies, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and experience.
