About Us


Innovation & Strategic Partnerships unites Western’s Technology Transfer Office, Strategic Partnerships, and Western Research Parks, driving the impact of Western’s research by fostering connections between research, industry, and communities.

Western’s Technology Transfer Office is seeking a motivated and high-performing Business Development Project Analyst to provide on-site support for its diverse portfolio of projects.


Responsibilities


  • Explore the commercialization potential of University technologies and identify prospective industry partners and receptors.
  • Support technology project activities, including evaluation, market assessment, market research, developmental risk analysis, and competitive environment analysis.
  • Identify potential industry partners, companies and markets for projects
  • Conduct technology literature research and competitive landscape analysis
  • Assists in project and technology marketing, developing marketing materials, and supporting documents
  • Assist the Business Development Team in day-to-day activities
  • Contribute to initiatives that promote an innovation-focused culture on campus

Qualifications

  • Preferably an HBA student in Sciences (e.g., Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related Life Sciences programs)
  • Students currently in Business programs with some or prior Sciences experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Students in dual Sciences and Business programs are also encouraged to apply
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Undergraduate students are invited to apply. Must be a student returning to studies in the fall.

Other requirements

  • Technical knowledge in science-related fields with some business understanding
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined with a "can-do" attitude
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
  • Familiar with database searching
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
