About Us
Innovation & Strategic Partnerships unites Western’s Technology Transfer Office, Strategic Partnerships, and Western Research Parks, driving the impact of Western’s research by fostering connections between research, industry, and communities.
As a Marketing Assistant, you will help craft and deliver compelling content across various channels to enhance our brand presence, engage our audiences, and support our mission. This role offers valuable experience in marketing, communications, and design within an innovation-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
Assist in marketing projects by developing marketing materials and supporting documents.
Use Canva and MailChimp to design visually appealing graphics that align with our brand for social media, websites, and email campaigns.
Collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, supporting team members across various tasks and projects.
Manage social media pages by drafting, proposing, and creating content to schedule and post.
Develop and deliver engaging content, including web copy, social media posts, newsletters, marketing collateral, and more.
Support day-to-day marketing needs.
Assist with the promotion and marketing of programs offered.
Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Office, MailChimp, Canva
Copywriting and editing experience considered an asset
Both Graduate and Undergraduate students are invited to apply.
Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Ability:
Experience developing videos, articles, website, and social media content.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Professional demeanour
Responsible, adaptable, eager to learn, and able to show initiative.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under deadlines.
Competent in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Familiarity with various online social networks (e.g., Twitter/X, LinkedIn).
Candidates currently enrolled in FIMS programs are strongly encouraged to apply.
Other requirements:
Technical knowledge in science-related fields with some business understanding
Self-motivated and self-disciplined with a "can-do" attitude
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Familiarity with database searching.
