PR & Social Media Specialist

MatchBox Consulting Group is partnering with a fast-growing construction firm with a strong presence across British Columbia to find a Public Relations & Social Media Specialist who can take the lead on brand storytelling, media engagement, and digital presence. This is a full-time, in-office role based in Langley, BC. The successful candidate will have the creative drive to craft compelling content and the technical confidence to manage everything from drone shots to WordPress updates. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how the company shows up publicly—through social media, the media, and internal culture-building. This is a chance to combine creativity, strategy, and boots-on-the-ground storytelling to make an impact.

Responsibilities

• Draft and distribute press releases, media kits, and executive speaking points
• Manage media outreach and press relationships, tracking coverage and opportunities
• Contribute to award submissions and coordinate presence at industry events
• Plan, create, and schedule content for LinkedIn and Instagram
• Monitor performance metrics and optimize for engagement and growth
• Capture and edit high-quality photography and video content
• Maintain and organize a clean, searchable digital asset library
• Assist with monthly internal newsletters and employee engagement campaigns
• Support planning and promotion of project milestones, company events, and activations
• Maintain and update site content via WordPress

Requirements

• 2–3+ years of experience in Public Relations, Communications, or Digital Media
• Valid BC driver’s license (travel to job sites/events required)
• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Proven track record managing and growing social media accounts (B2B or construction preferred)
• Strong storytelling and writing ability, along with visual content production (photo and video)
• Comfortable owning projects independently and collaborating across teams
• WordPress, Canva, Adobe Premiere (or similar video editing tool)
• Photo editing software
• Familiarity with tools like Asana, Monday.com, and social media scheduling platforms (e.g. Hootsuite, Buffer, Later) is an asset
