THE OPPORTUNITY:
Reporting to the Production Manager or Shift Supervisor, the Grinder is accountable for cutting and grinding parts according to specifications. In addition, the incumbent will assist in other areas of assembly as needed.
Compensation:
- $25.39 CAD/hr plus a grinding bonus of $1.47 per hour.
Our 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, MON- FRI.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Operate machines and equipment or using hand tools to cut, shape, splice and fit materials to form parts and assemblies
- Follow blueprints and drawings to cut and grind products
- Cut and prepare composite materials from patterns to join parts and assemblies
- Work closely with all team members to achieve improvements in productivity and quality
- Document information on process sheets and timecards in an accurate and timely manner
- Move shells
- Load shells on carts
- Other indirect activities as required
- Maintain a safe working environment by aligning with corporate safety rules and regulations, and support a culture of safety
- Model safety culture and behavior across the organization.
- Perform all accountabilities of position in line with safety policies and guidelines.
- Provide support to the generation of Hazard Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures
- You communicate well with others and like to work as part of a team
- You have a good understanding of English, including verbal, written, and reading skills
- Your basic math and problem-solving skills are good, and you pride yourself on the details
- You want to learn how to use new tools and equipment and are comfortable working in a fiberglass plant environment
- You are comfortable working at heights and within confined spaces
- You can work variable hours including overtime and weekends as needed
- You are able to lift up to 25lbs., with bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
- You have your own transportation as public transit is not available
