Position Summary
The Senior Operator is responsible for the maintenance and repair of centrifuges, gear boxes, centrifugal pumps, and other equipment and day-to-day operations of Waste Sludge Centrifuge at CNOOC LongLake Facility in Fort McMurray.

Responsibilities
- Blues on blues shift handover in Admin building operations area.
- Attend the CNOOC daily Operation’s Shift team meeting and report any Operational Issues or concerns with the Production Supervisor.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with control room operators to ensure all affected processes are optimized.
- Safely operate the slop oil and lime sludge centrifuges as per normal operating procedures.
- Perform beginning of shift equipment rounds, including regular rounds as defined by the Equipment round sheets.
- Perform regular housekeeping of the Centrifuge area.
- Maintain the chemical inventories onsite and submit requests for chemical orders.
- Maintain and order spare parts & site consumables.
- Response to upset conditions in a timely manner.
- Ability to troubleshoot and effectively communicate any additional resources required to maintain steady operations.
- Enter notifications within SAP for any required maintenance.
- Development and redlining of new and existing procedures.
- Perform regular reports on systems performance.
- Engagement in SWP and LOTO audits.
- Assist other area operators during plant upset conditions.
- High School Diploma/College Degree preferred
- Over 4 years of industry experience including minimum 2 years of centrifuge operating experience
- Valid Driver’s License
- Oilfield safety training such as H2S Alive, WHIMIS, etc.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general documentations, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
- Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to use office PC tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
