ELITS is now looking a highly motivated individual for a Radio Compliance Verification Engineer role, to join our operations in Ottawa.
Are you a highly motivated hardware verification engineer looking to work on cutting-edge cellular base station radio equipment for global deployment? Join our Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Environmental (ENV) Verification Team, where you will help ensure our products meet the highest standards for performance, compliance, and reliability. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast-paced, collaborative environment using both automated and manual test methods in advanced laboratory settings.
You will:
- Plan, develop, and execute internal and regulatory test cases covering EMC, ENV, and regulatory requirements.
- Formally document test plans and test results.
- Help maintain and enhance the hardware verification laboratory environment, including support equipment, radio interfaces, software, and communication links.
- Collaborate closely with hardware (HW) and software (SW) systems, design, and verification teams to achieve project milestones.
- Maintain positive professional relationships with external laboratory partners to ensure successful testing and certification.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 5 years of experience in hardware (HW) development or verification.
- Solid understanding of third-generation (3G), fourth-generation (4G), and fifth-generation (5G) wireless communications technologies.
- Strong knowledge of European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) standards, as well as global regulatory certification processes.
- Extensive hands-on experience with radio frequency (RF) test instruments such as Keysight and Rohde & Schwarz (R&S).
- Experience with Java programming is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in English, both oral and written.
- Strong documentation and report writing skills.
