About the role:
As the People and Culture Manager at RHEI, you will play a critical role in shaping a workplace where people thrive and purpose drives performance. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution across the full spectrum of HR functions - including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. You'll lead efforts to foster a strong, inclusive culture aligned with RHEI’s core values, while supporting organizational growth through thoughtful workforce planning and development. Acting as a key partner to leadership, you’ll champion employee engagement, wellness, and DEI initiatives, and ensure HR practices not only meet regulatory standards but also enhance the overall employee experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Planning
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Support organizational development, succession planning, and workforce forecasting.
- Identify HR trends and risks, recommending solutions to leadership.
2. Recruitment and Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment: job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection.
- Coordinate onboarding processes including orientation, paperwork, and integration planning.
- Maintain relationships with recruitment agencies and job boards.
3. Employee Relations and Engagement
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and conflict
- resolution.
- Promote a positive work environment through engagement initiatives and feedback
- loops.
- Provide guidance on company policies, workplace behavior, and ethical practices.
4. Performance Management
- Oversee the performance review process, including training managers on best practices.
- Design and refine performance evaluation tools and documentation.
- Support employees and managers with goal setting and performance improvement
- plans.
5. Policy Development and Compliance
- Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and employee handbooks.
- Ensure compliance with federal, provincial/state, and local labour laws.
- Handle workplace investigations and maintain documentation for legal compliance.
6. Compensation and Benefits Administration
- Administer payroll processes in coordination with finance or third-party providers.
- Manage benefits enrollment, renewals, and employee education.
- Benchmark compensation practices and recommend adjustments as needed.
7. Training and Development
- Identify training needs and facilitate learning programs.
- Source or develop materials for professional development and compliance training.
- Track participation and evaluate training effectiveness.
8. HR Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain accurate employee records.
- Prepare regular HR reports (headcount, turnover, absence, etc.) for leadership.
- Use HRIS tools to streamline administrative processes and data analysis.
9. Health, Safety, and Wellness
- Ensure workplace safety programs are in place and compliant with regulations.
- Promote wellness initiatives and manage related communications or events.
- Coordinate return-to-work or accommodations as needed.
10. Culture and Inclusion
- Champion DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) initiatives.
- Lead or support culture-building activities and recognition programs.
- Act as a culture ambassador, aligning HR practices with core company values.

Key Requirements:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field; 4+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Experience managing end-to-end recruitment and designing onboarding processes that support employee integration.
- Employee Relations & Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict, support employee wellbeing, and drive engagement initiatives.
- Performance Management: Skilled in facilitating performance review cycles, coaching managers, and supporting goal-setting and development plans.
- Policy & Compliance: Knowledge of employment legislation with experience developing policies and ensuring compliance through best practices.
- Compensation & Benefits: Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration.
- HR Systems & Reporting: Proficiency with HRIS tools and analytics (ADP) to maintain records and generate leadership reports.
