High Tech Genesis is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer who will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, architecture, design, testing, and delivery to manufacturing of carrier-grade hardware. This includes hardware for optical line systems supporting 400Gbps and beyond, as well as broadband fiber access systems with PON rates up to 50Gbps.

High Tech Genesis is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer who will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, architecture, design, testing, and delivery to manufacturing of carrier-grade hardware. This includes hardware for optical line systems supporting 400Gbps and beyond, as well as broadband fiber access systems with PON rates up to 50Gbps.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead HW development projects and advise and mentor other HW team members.
- Own all aspects of circuit pack development schedule, prototype delivery, product testing and product certification.
- Work with product line management and other managers to interpret and negotiate product features and specifications.
- Lead and interface with contract resources outside of your organization.
- Define technical specifications to support design concepts, and participate in specification peer reviews.
- Participate in design reviews, guide technical discussions to conclusion.
- Interface with component vendors and negotiate design specifications with external suppliers.
- Review Designs to ensure they meet architecture goals.
- Support the technology transfer to manufacturing/production testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with over 12 years of experience in developing optical transport systems, fiber access equipment, or high-speed circuit packs.
- Experience with 1RU-14RU carrier-grade system requirements and high-speed optical and access fiber transmission systems
- Experience with board level development and being a lead designer for development projects
- Experience and understanding of design for testability and manufacturability concepts
- Experience in developing environmentally hardened optical transport and access systems Expertise in a broad range of optical interfaces and telecommunications standards, including those exceeding 400G, is highly valued.
