ATCO Structures & Logistics is looking to hire a registered Apprentice Carpenter (II,III,IV year) to join our Calgary Manufacturing Plant. Reporting to the Lead head, Carpenter Apprentice is responsible for assisting in constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes. This is a union-based role. Location will be Calgary and Rockyview Location

ATCO Structures & Logistics is looking to hire a registered Apprentice Carpenter (II,III,IV year) to join our Calgary Manufacturing Plant. Reporting to the Lead head, Carpenter Apprentice is responsible for assisting in constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes. Job Responsibilities:
- Build house framework, walls, roof, exterior and interior finishes
- Install doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding, and ceiling tiles
- Repair and remodel existing structures of all kinds
- Read and interpret drawings.
- Select materials, plan sequences and methods of work, and measure and mark materials to avoid costly mistakes or omissions.
- Cut and shape materials and join them with nails, screws, bolts, or glue.
- Check completed units to ensure they are level, square, plumb, and in the right size, shape, and location.
- Work accurately and economically and follow national and local building codes
- Other duties as assigned.
- Actively registered Apprentice Carpenter (II, III or IV year) under Alberta Trades.
- Previous experience with modular units is considered an asset
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to work safely with a wide variety of hand and power tools as well as other building materials.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
