The Tasmanian Department of Health is seeking passionate and skilled clinicians to join our specialist Alcohol and Drug Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals affected by alcohol and other drug use. The Role:

As a key member of the Alcohol and Drug Service Community Team, you will provide evidence-based assessment, case management, and individual outpatient counselling to people impacted by alcohol and other drug use. You will work with a diverse client group, often presenting with a range of complex health and psychosocial needs. Operating within a harm minimisation framework, you will contribute to multidisciplinary care planning, deliver targeted health interventions, and support ongoing quality improvement within the service.

You will need:

• Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary evidence based practice used in the treatment and prevention of alcohol and other drug dependence, including alcohol and other drug assessment, the harm minimisation framework, interventions and prevention activities.
• Knowledge of, and the ability to undertake, comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions with complex AOD issues.
• Knowledge of and ability to develop, monitor and implement quality assurance and improvement activities and/or research.

Details of appointment:

Multiple permanent part time, day worker position, working (up to) 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum pro rata. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse
• Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change.
