Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and customer service-oriented Room Attendant to join the Housekeeping Department.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Clean, organize, restore and restock guest rooms or other areas of the hotel according to established standards
  • Requires compliance in the use of cleaning techniques and chemicals used for cleaning
  • Restock and account for Minibar items in guest rooms during service
  • Ensure guestroom welcome amenities are delivered and replenished when needed as per established policy
  • Account for inventory items and supplies used, replenishing as required
  • Organize, stock and maintain cleanliness of assigned floor storerooms as well as guest areas
  • Report items which require maintenance for immediate and proactive resolution
  • Clean rooms following our established safety standards to ensure personal safety and security at all times.
  • Report customer service issues or concerns to management in a prompt, proactive manner as appropriate
  • Partner with housemen, laundry attendant, housekeeping supervisors and management to ensure rooms are serviced in accordance with guest arrivals and queues.
  • Stock housekeeping carts to ensure supplies for the shift are accessible and available for the day, taking care to not overstock the cart.
  • Report guest room and equipment defects to management to ensure damage and defects are logged and repaired
  • Job may entail standard cleaning of guest rooms, or preparing rooms to turndown standards, dependent on shift
  • Undertakes any other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required.

This position requires flexibility in terms of scheduling, and must be available for various shifts especially the weekends and holidays; morning or evening shifts.

Candidates must have the ability to lift, pull and push moderate weight. This is a fast-paced and physical position and previous cleaning experience as well as the ability to communicate to guests required.

Hourly wage is at $30.97.

Qualifications

  • Must have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work various shifts especially weekends and holidays (mornings, afternoons, and evenings)
  • Must have good organization skills
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum or no supervision
  • Must be an excellent team player with a positive and helpful attitude
  • Must be physically fit to perform and complete all duties as required
  • Must be able to provide genuine service to all guests
  • Clear concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding for luxury hotel standards of service
  • Previous housekeeping experience in office, resorts, cruise ships or hotels is an asset

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
