Job Title: Security Operations Analyst
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Department: Information Security
Reports To: Security Operations Manager
About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Security Operations Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity and resilience of our digital infrastructure. You will be responsible for configuring and tuning our SIEM platform, managing the alerting process, and leading the response to security incidents. You will also contribute to our threat intelligence program and maintain comprehensive documentation, including incident playbooks and post-incident reports.

Job Title: Security Operations Analyst

About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Security Operations Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity and resilience of our digital infrastructure. You will be responsible for configuring and tuning our SIEM platform, managing the alerting process, and leading the response to security incidents. You will also contribute to our threat intelligence program and maintain comprehensive documentation, including incident playbooks and post-incident reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, tune, and maintain SIEM rules and alerting logic to ensure accurate and actionable threat detection.
- Monitor and triage security alerts, validate incidents, and lead investigations through to resolution.
- Coordinate with internal teams and managed service providers to contain and remediate threats.
- Document and maintain security incident response playbooks, incident reports, and root cause analyses.
- Conduct threat intelligence gathering and analysis to proactively identify and mitigate emerging risks.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and cloud teams to ensure security controls are effectively implemented.
- Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of detection and response capabilities.
- Support compliance and audit efforts by maintaining accurate records of incidents and response actions.
- Review Vendor Security Questionnaires and/or Security enquires from businesses to ensure consistency along with support in building a knowledge library for Business education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel) and EDR tools.
- Strong understanding of incident response methodologies and threat intelligence frameworks.
- Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, and ISO 27001.
- Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
- GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
- CompTIA Security+, CEH, or equivalent
