About the Role

The Exhibitions Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of the Gibson's ambitious exhibitions program, including publications, special projects such as off-site public art, and associated public programming. The role develops the exhibition schedule, corresponding budgets and contracts. The Exhibitions Manager supports project curators, guest curators, and participating artists in realizing projects and navigating the university context; facilitates research and production connections among artists, academic units, and well as external community members. The role supervises and aligns the activities and workflow for collections and temporary exhibitions, commissions, and inbound/outbound touring exhibitions. Acting as the Curatorial liaison between other Museum departments, the role supports the Director on government grants, supervises the Curatorial team and organizes all exhibitions-related planning meetings. The role manages multiple projects while effectively representing the ethics and commitments of the Gibson Art Museum to external stakeholders, including artists, vendors, and other museum professionals.
