Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with organizational priorities and reflects the cultural values and identity of the community
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all communications, marketing, and graphic design initiatives across departments and affiliated institutions
- Ensure consistency and cultural sensitivity in all messaging, branding, and public-facing materials
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with internal departments, leadership, and external stakeholders, including media, partners, and community members
- Provide strategic advice and leadership on branding, media relations, and stakeholder engagement to executive leadership and department heads
- Identify emerging issues and opportunities, and proactively develop communication responses and campaigns that are timely, relevant, and impactful
- Guide and mentor a multidisciplinary communications team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture
- Oversee the development of content for various platforms, including digital, print, and broadcast media, ensuring alignment with strategic goals
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communications initiatives, using data and analytics to inform continuous improvement
- Manage departmental operations, including budgeting, staffing, and performance management, with a focus on efficiency, accountability, and innovation
- Maintain a high level of political and cultural awareness, exercising discretion and professionalism in all interactions
- Post-secondary or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Arts, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Hootsuite, SEO, and social media platforms
- Strong understanding of branding, marketing, and digital media strategies
- Experience in videography, photography, and graphic design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of building collaborative partnerships
