The Role

We’re looking for a Digital Print Operator (B&W) who can work on a team in a fast paced-paced environment. This individual will produce print orders using various Digital production printers and peripherals. The Digital Print Operator ensures compliance with job specifications and company quality standards and procedures. They will also coordinate work load schedules to meet customer deadlines, while achieving optimum productivity.

This role will work Monday to Friday on Day Shift (6 a.m. – 2 p.m.).

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain various B&W digital print production printers and peripherals
  • Read dockets thoroughly and sign run/quality sheets for all jobs, transfer and process customer files, setup and proof jobs
  • Perform Quality checks – before, during and after jobs are complete, communicate issues to the leadhand or Supervisor/Manager
  • Prioritize jobs based on finishing and delivery expectations
  • Work effectively as a part of a team to achieve optimum quality meeting production deadlines
  • Physical movement of product to and from the department
  • Ensure all staff tasks and training schedules are followed
  • Follow Health & Safety Guidelines
  • Ensure proper RMI inventory is matched against the docket and spoilage is recorded
  • Promote consistent process/procedure improvements

Skills & Experiences

  • Thorough knowledge of all print processes, specifically digital, including knowledge of ISO and Quality procedures, with a keen eye for color accuracy, and various color standards
  • Excellent communication skills to interpret incoming information onto production staff
  • Strong Customer Service skills, logic and mathematical abilities
  • Proven organizational, time management, and multi-tasking/priority setting skills, with ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong Computer Skills including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat would be considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Freeflow, Fiery, and Prisma Print Systems
  • Able to work overtime to meet production requirements sometimes with short notice
