We’re excited to launch a new state-of-the-art robotic homebuilding plant in partnership with several large homebuilders within the Greater Calgary Region. Powered by Promise Robotics' transformative production lines for timber-based panelized construction, the new plant enables our group of homebuilding partners to significantly increase the capacity and speed of home production within the fast-growing region of Calgary, AB.
To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to lead a team to frame manual wall panels, floors, and stairs. In this role you will perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor and are required to
operate equipment and hand and power tools.

To support our continued growth, we are seeking a Journeyman Carpenter to lead a team to frame manual wall panels, floors, and stairs. In this role you will perform a variety of tasks involving physical labor and are required to
operate equipment and hand and power tools.
What you will do:
- Assemble/finish pre-built wall, and floor structures
- Examine and understand specifics of blueprints, building plans and work orders
- to prepare project layouts to determine the dimensions and lead the internal team in executing the home build
- Measure, cut, and assemble the framing lumber needed to build residential buildings
- Install exterior windows and doors
- Frame floor panels as per joist layout and framing shop drawings
- Conduct interior work such as fitting interior doors and casings
- Use a variety of hand and power tools such as saws, drills, nail guns, framer’s squares, and measuring tapes
- Provide on the job training & mentorship to other employees in a manufacturing environment
- Maintain safety standards in the work place through daily tool box meetings
- Follow quality control procedures
- Work with the procurement team and material management teams to ensure raw materials are available
- Participate actively in problem solving sessions, continuous improvement initiatives
- Perform additional duties as required
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in framing position
- Experience leading a team of people
- Journeyman Carpenter certification
- Proficient and proactive in ensuring onsite framing meets Alberta Building Codes.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software is a strong asset
- Team work oriented
- Excellent problem solving skills and good communication skills
- Residential construction knowledge
- Ability to operate hand and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and work orders
- Knowledge of health and safety rules
- Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems
- Must be able to distinguish colors
- May require work in hazardous environments requiring protective equipment
