Laundry Worker | Support Services

Laundry Worker
In accordance with the established vision and values of the organization and under the close supervision of the Laundry Supervisor (or designate), performs a variety of laundry duties such as sorting, folding, and weighing linen and operating designated equipment.
Sorts, folds, counts, and records linen for control purposes. Checks all linen for repairs, stains, holes, tears, etc., while processing it.
Operates equipment such as ironers, folders, steam finishers, and pressers. Ensures the correct temperature before use for different fabrics. Notifies the Laundry Supervisor (or designate) of any equipment malfunctions.
Loads and unloads tumblers, conveyors, conditioners, and extractors.
Weighs linen, collects linen from user areas, distributes/issues linen to user areas, and maintains ward linen quotas; loads and unloads laundry trucks; and maintains related records.
Stocks linen carts as per established quotas.
As required, loads and unloads domestic washers and dryers, operates same by selecting wash cycles, setting temperatures, and switching machines on and off.
Cleans and performs routine maintenance on designated equipment. Maintains records of work performed.
Notifies Laundry Supervisor (or designate) when supplies require re-ordering.
Performs duties in accordance with established standards of production and safety; maintains related records.
Participates in departmental meetings, training sessions, and quality assurance programs as required/directed.
Performs other related duties as assigned in any area of the laundry.
This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.
This position works a rotating schedule that includes the day shifts as follows: 07:00 to 15:00
