Job Description: WE’RE LOOKING FOR A MANAGER, DCR POSITION LOCATION: FORT ERIE, ONTARIO The Manager, DCR is responsible for the on time, on quality and on cost operations of the AHCA Light Helicopter component repair and overhaul activities. The Manager. DCR is committed to meeting the Company’s financial targets in terms of revenue and profit in this business line and ensures customer satisfaction by meeting various key performance indicators and taking suitable action to drive performance and efficiency including accurate reporting. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIESManage Dynamic Component Repair and Overhaul Activities
- Provide guidance and leadership to the whole Dynamic Component Repair (DCR) team.
- Plan, direct, delegate, and monitor the work of the DCR team through appropriate planning, supervision and regular communication.
- Promote and enforce AHCA policies and procedures including quality procedures and health & safety rules and be an escalation point for supervisor on employee’s concerns as they arise.
- Provide guidance and insight on workload planning and parts forecasting for all areas of DCR shop.
- Manage all DCR work centres to ensure all targeted key performance indicators (KPI) are met.
- Validate final quotations prior to releasing them to customers.
- Oversee annual DCR customer catalogue.
- Manage DCR inventory and repairable pool items as required.
- Lead and mentor DCR Supervisor for alignment with Airbus values and behaviours.
- Uphold the Airbus Values and Vision and promote a speak up culture.
- Work to develop a culture within DCR that promotes communication, trust, empowerment, innovation and problem solving.
- Support with management of the budget and other financial measures of the Manufacturing department.
- Complete annual goal setting & performance management for all team members.
- Continuously seek for improvements and for possibilities to optimise processes in order to maximise shop efficiency.
- Oversee departmental cross-training throughout DCR shop by utilising internal skills matrix.
- Report monthly on performance KPIs.
- Work in close collaboration with interfacing departments to support with forecasting volume and business planning via operating plan, operating expenses and forecast reviews.
- Provide technical support and clarification to AHCA CSRs, AHCA tech support team and customers.
- Work closely with other department management and supervisors to achieve organizational goals.
- Work with DCR Supervisor to maintain existing DCR training plan and budgets.
- Be an escalation point for addressing complex employee complaints and concerns.
- Manage and evaluate DCR Super employee performance through clear communication of expectations, regular feedback and annual reviews, disciplining performance or behavior problems.
- Act as liaison between AHCA and Airbus Group for DCR related topics.
- Lead departmental audits as required.
- College diploma in Engineering within the aviation field.
- 5 years’ working experience in aeronautic industry.
- 5 years’ experience working in a mechanical/machining environment.
- 3 years’ experience working in a manager role.
- Advanced knowledge of Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SalesForce is considered an asset.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Able to delegate and set objectives for a team.
- Knowledge of tools used in aircraft repair applications is an asset.
- Aircraft and aircraft component knowledge.
- Ability to calculate and derive basic arithmetic formulas.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and documents.
- Able to trouble shoot and identify issues and corrective measures.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Focus on delivery high standards of product quality and safety.
- Able to effectively communicate across various levels of the company in a team environment.
- Able to solve day to day issues and work under general supervision.
- Adaptive to new requirements and techniques.
