This is a hybrid role and there is an in-office requirement of 3 days a week. The office location is Calgary.

Here’s Where You’ll Be Focusing
Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs)
- Support for collective bargaining as needed. Provides expertise on contract interpretation and coaching for store managers.
- Partner with store business leaders and HR Business Partners to educate and provide guidance through collaborative labour decisions and interpretations of collective agreements.
- Coach, educate and communicate labour relations strategies to Human Resources and Operations teams.
- Facilitate preparation of bargaining tools including researching settlements and preparing wage comparisons.
- Researches, develops, analyzes data and makes recommendations for collective bargaining agreements including, but not limited to, competitive analytics, language review, recommendations to strategy, economics and compliance.
- Manage grievance, arbitrations, human rights complaints and other labour board matters involving unionized employees
- Conduct grievance meeting and interact with Union Reps from various Locals in multiple provinces. Administration of CBAs.
- Provide CBA analysis for upcoming negotiations.
- Ensure proper administration of CBAs.
- Follow processes on maintaining files on all original labour contracts and notes taken during negotiations.
- Provide prompt, firm and accurate counsel to other Leaders who contact the LR department for guidance or assistance, including advice on progressive discipline, performance management and interactions with unionized employees and union representatives.
- Master and support the Company’s positive employee relations strategy.
- Maintain wage and other comparisons for all direct competitors for each collective agreement.
- Maintain detailed clause by clause comparison of collective agreements.
- Undergraduate degree in business, HR or Labour Relations
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Excellent computer and Internet skills
- Excellent knowledge of applicable legislation
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Ability to effectively manage time and completing priorities
