Commercial Banking Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive QA Automation Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test cases to ensure the quality and reliability of our software products. You’ll work closely with Developers, BSA’s and other QA team members to deliver high-quality applications with minimal defects.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:


  • Collaborate with Business analysts, and Developers to understand user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks (UI, API, and performance testing).
  • Execute automated and manual test cases, log defects, and track them to closure.
  • Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Jira).
  • Oversee SQL validation for test data preparation and comparison.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and debugging of test failures.
  • Lead the improvement of automation frameworks and tools for continuous testing in a DevOps environment.
  • Write efficient, reusable test scripts using Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies.
  • Identify automation opportunities within manual test processes.
  • Create detailed test strategies, test plans, and maintain proper documentation.
  • Support performance testing andenvironment readness where applicable


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:


  • 5–7 years of experience in QA automation or software testing.
  • Strong scripting skills in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience with frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Robot Framework, or similar.
  • Good knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, and tools like Postman, RestAssured, etc.
  • Strong understanding of testing principles: functional, regression and integration testing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and source control systems: Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Practical experience with SQL and working with large datasets or data-driven testing.
  • Ability to analyze requirements and convert them into comprehensive test scenarios.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Experience with Waterfall/Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related area.
  • Commercial Banking knowledge or prior experience in the Banking/Financial services sector.
  • Knowledge of test data management and environment configuration practices.
  • Experience with test planning, documentation tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Office).
  • Experience deploying and testing web services (REST/SOAP/JSON/XML).
