Item Master / Component technician
Reporting to the Production Planner, the Item Master/component technician will support the Operation and Engineering teams by ensuring that all consumables, materials, equipment, services are identified and coded consistently and according to the technical engineering definition. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of parts, which is vital for efficient procurement, inventory management, and production processes.

Item Master / Component technician
Reporting to the Production Planner, the Item Master/component technician will support the Operation and Engineering teams by ensuring that all consumables, materials, equipment, services are identified and coded consistently and according to the technical engineering definition. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of parts, which is vital for efficient procurement, inventory management, and production processes.
Tasks And Responsibilities
- Maintain the master file, establish product configurations and ensure data integrity and accuracy in the ERP system
- Creates new items for products: spare parts, consumables, material, equipment, services in the ERP system.
- Establishes the nomenclature (BOM) of products and updates product information in the ERP system, piloting the process with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to define and maintain accurate BOMs within the ERP system.
- Create and maintain productions orders
- Work with IT teams and ERP system administrators to identify, test and implement system enhancements, automation, and process improvements related to item configuration.
- Participate in Parts list reviews
- Participate in the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
- Support PLM team in the preparation of obsolescence reports for management and customers.
- Create and maintain a component obsolescence file to better assess product life cycles.
- Provide the Purchasing Manager and Production Planner with recommendations regarding critical part consumption.
- Support the Production Planner in preparing the production plan.
- Participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process by assisting the process engineer.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as information systems, or operation.
- Good experience with an ERP
- Knowledge of Excel (intermediate to expert level)
- Knowledge of product nomenclatures (Bill of material)
- Autonomy and adaptability
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Work at the office
- Bilingual (French & English): both spoken and written in order to ensure good collaboration with our suppliers and our international teams.
