As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Distribution Centre. You will be responsible for overseeing a unionized team and supporting day-to-day distribution functions including inventory, safety, and personnel development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervise and lead the shift workforce, ensuring productivity, safety, and schedule adherence.
- Plan and coordinate the proper sequencing of assembly, loading, receiving, and shipping activities.
- Ensure accurate handling and movement of products and materials.
- Maintain the integrity of inventory and ensure compliance with inbound and outbound processes.
- Resolve personnel, equipment, and workflow issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain security and safety protocols throughout the distribution centre.
- Train, coach, and support team members on policies, procedures, systems, and best practices.
- Complete shift reports and documentation (e.g., incidents, disciplinary reports).
- Facilitate smooth communication and hand-offs between shifts.
- Foster a positive and visible presence on the floor to support a high-performing team culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
- 1–3 years of supervisory or management experience in a distribution or warehouse setting.
- Computer systems knowledge (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Experience with Distribution Operations and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts (morning, afternoon, night), including weekends.
- Strong leadership and motivational skills with the ability to manage team performance.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset with a commitment to teamwork and operational excellence.
- Experience working in a unionized environment would also be an asset.
