The Town of Truro's Engineering and Public Works Department is responsible for designing, managing, and maintaining critical infrastructure that directly impacts the lives of residents—from roads and water systems to capital development projects.
This is a dynamic position where technical expertise meets meaningful community impact. You’ll be involved in the day-to-day management of public works and water utility operations, including project management across critical infrastructure systems such as water distribution, sanitary and storm sewers, as well as streets and sidewalks.

Help Shape the Future of the Infrastructure and Facilities of the Town of Truro: Apply your education and skills developed from your Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and your professional engineer designation to contribute to the design and planning of civil infrastructure projects, including water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, stormwater management, transportation networks, and asset management.
Craft with Precision: Assist in developing detailed design drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Collaborate and Innovate: Use your strong verbal and written communication abilities to work alongside our Engineering & Public Works teammates as well as with our partners within all other Town Departments to refine design concepts, prepare technical reports, tender documents, and ensure project specifications meet the Town’s needs and regulatory standards.
Engage On-Site: Participate in site visits and fieldwork, collecting essential data for infrastructure investigations, observe construction activities, and engage with community members of the Town.
