Your Key Responsibilities
- Assist in operating and maintaining the corporate computerized Warehouse Inventory System.
- Evaluate material tenders, price inquiries, and recommend purchases.
- Ensures proper and adequate supply of product is on hand to meet needs
- Safeguard stock from damage, loss, theft, and misappropriation.
- Oversee shipping for repairs, source competitive pricing, and maintain after-market supplier contacts.
- Demonstrated knowledge of inventory management principles, storekeeping and purchasing policies and procedures.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft office software and ability to adapt to the current integrated ERP system and applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a diverse organization.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to make good decisions using sound judgment and procedures.
- Ability to operate a forklift and perform light to medium manual lifting.
- Successful completion of a Grade 12 education. Post-secondary education an asset.
- Partial completion or completion of a Warehouse or Parts Technician Program considered as an asset.
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience in Electric Utilities and/or Stores departments or a combination of related experience.
- Current certification of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Forklift Certification.
- Current certification of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
- Possess and maintain a Class 5 Alberta Driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- A management approved combination of training and experience may be considered.
