Job Title: Process Mapper / Business Analyst

Location: Downtown Toronto 2x/week Wed & Friday

Job Type: 12 months Contract

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Process Mapper / Business Analyst to join our team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions by analyzing, documenting, and optimizing business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business analysis within technical environments and be capable of translating complex requirements into actionable deliverables that align with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Conduct gap analyses, impact assessments, and feasibility studies for proposed solutions.
  • Create and maintain process models, data flow diagrams, and system documentation.
  • Work closely with developers, QA teams, and product managers to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by developing test cases, coordinating testing efforts, and validating results.
  • Assist in project planning, sprint grooming, and backlog prioritization.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and compliance requirements.

Skills & Knowledge Required:

  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and SQL.
  • Expertise in process modeling and diagramming tools such as Microsoft Visio or Mermaid.
  • Familiarity with APIs, data modeling, and system integration.
  • Knowledge of data analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to deliver clear, concise training and support materials.

Experience Level:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technical environment.
  • Industry experience in banking, capital markets, wealth management, or risk and compliance is highly preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA are advantageous.
