About The Role
Reporting to the BIM/VDC Lead, the BIM/VDC Specialist provides advanced BIM/VDC project support to multiple projects within a regional office, and is responsible for mentoring and coaching BIM/VDC Coordinators and Estimators within that office. The incumbent works with the BIM/VDC Lead to develop BIM/VDC-related project templates, workflows, and training materials.

About The Role
Reporting to the BIM/VDC Lead, the BIM/VDC Specialist provides advanced BIM/VDC project support to multiple projects within a regional office, and is responsible for mentoring and coaching BIM/VDC Coordinators and Estimators within that office. The incumbent works with the BIM/VDC Lead to develop BIM/VDC-related project templates, workflows, and training materials.
As a BIM/VDC Specialist At Graham You Will
- Communicate any project BIM requirements to trades
- Facilitate additional BIM modeling if required by the RFP (i.e. LOD 400 level model)
- Set up federated model (Navisworks) from design consultant and / or trade models
- Set up clash tests in Navisworks and establish clash detection protocols
- Assemble 4D timeline simulation model from design / trade models and the project P6 schedule
- Train and assist the BIM Coordinator(s) so that they are able to:
- Pilot a Navisworks model during project meetings
- Update Navisworks clash tests, sort and group clashes for meetings, and publish clash reports
- Conduct clash detection meetings (navigate model, document decisions)
- Update 4D timeline simulation with revised BIM models and updated P6 schedules
- Test and pilot new software and technologies
- Ensure that the project participants are following the BIM execution plan
- Provide ongoing technical support / troubleshooting for the project
- Help the Project Manager by providing information (highlighting potential conflicts or risks) to help make educated and supported decisions on the project
- University degree or completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school; Degree in Building Technology, Engineering, Architecture, or Construction is preferred
- Autodesk certification, CANBIM certification, and construction association certification are all assets
- 2-3 years of relevant experience; architectural consultant firm experience is an asset
- Construction experience and a willingness to learn
- Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
- Demonstrated general knowledge of and increasing familiarity with the core elements of a construction project, including systems, practices, and processes of project management
- Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, MS Project; Synchro, BIM360, 3DStudioMax, and equivalent technologies are assets
