About The Role

Web Hosting Canada (WHC) is on a mission to help Canadians succeed online. As Product Manager, WordPress & Websites, you’ll own the full strategy and delivery of our website products, from Managed WordPress to website builder solutions. You’ll be building a best-in-class WordPress experience while also supporting a broad range of website-building tools for entrepreneurs and small businesses.

You’ll report directly to the CEO and work with Product Owners, Engineers, Designers, Marketers, and our broader community to ship products that help Canadians succeed online.

This hybrid role is based out of our Montreal HQ in Little Italy, with flexibility for remote work. On-site presence may be required for key planning or team events.

What You'll Do

  • WordPress Evangelism: Champion WordPress both inside and outside WHC—educate internal teams, contribute to community discussions, and represent WHC at WordPress events, meetups, and conferences.
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap: Own and evolve the vision for WHC’s web presence products, including Managed WordPress, web hosting, and site builder solutions. Define the roadmap with a sharp focus on delivering a best-in-class WordPress experience, while also supporting the broader needs of Canadian SMBs building online.
  • Execution & Delivery: Lead the definition and scoping of new product initiatives in collaboration with Engineering and Design. Shape solutions with clear problem statements, write effective product pitches, and manage trade-offs to ship impactful features on time and in scope.
  • Product Pricing Strategy: Collaborate with leadership and marketing to position and price website products competitively while aligning with customer value and revenue goals.
  • Vendor & Partner Management: Coordinate with third-party partners such as CMS vendors, site builders, and theme/plugin providers to ensure seamless integrations and long-term product alignment.
  • Lifecycle Management: Drive full product lifecycle ownership—from pitch through launch and post-release iteration—using Shape Up methodology and focused, four-week delivery cycles with the Websites Squad.
  • Customer Research & Market Insight: Conduct user interviews, analyze product usage, and track market and competitor trends to inform product direction and shape better decision-making.
  • Cross-functional Leadership: Work closely with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, CX, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution of product initiatives across all stages—from concept to go-to-market.
  • Product Experimentation: Define and monitor KPIs for adoption, performance, and satisfaction. Translate insights into rapid iteration and continuous product improvement. Stay actively engaged with the WordPress community and open source ecosystem to identify new opportunities and validate ideas early.

Qualifications

  • You have practical WordPress expertise—whether that’s building, managing, or launching WordPress-based products.
  • You have 3–5 years of experience as a Product Manager, ideally working WordPress or SaaS or PaaS/IaaS, or within open-source ecosystems.
  • You’ve attended and (ideally) spoken at WordCamp conferences before
  • You have strong product instincts and prioritize delivering real customer value over chasing unnecessary complexity.
  • You’re confident working closely with technical teams, and fluent in tools and workflows like Jira, Figma, APIs, and Shape Up or Agile-style delivery cycles.
  • Bilingual (EN/FR) communication skills are a big plus.
  • Bonus if you bring:
