Intensivist

The Island Health Division of Critical Care medicine is seeking Intensivists to join our practice group. The Victoria critical care physicians are a team of 14 iIntensivists that provide 24/7 in-house critical care coverage for the Royal Jubilee Hospital and Victoria General Hospital in Victoria BC. As the Island Health tertiary referral centre for critical care, we serve a wide variety of patients in two mixed medical-surgical units. Subspecialty services include trauma, neurosurgical, neurology, obstetrical, thoracic surgery, respiratory, nephrology, cardiac, general surgery, and general medical patients.

Academic affiliation and teaching opportunities are available through the UBC island medical program. There are rotating learners including medical students, residents, and fellows. A special interest in education, quality improvement or medically administration would be an asset. Eligible applicants must hold certification by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Critical Care medicine.
