The mandate of the Director, Digital Delivery (DDD) is to optimize and streamline the digital product and experience organization’s priorities against capacity as well as deliver change through automation and reengineering of business processes and to ensure continuous improvement and support of Tangerine's strategy. The DDD overseas all digital delivery / scrum masters / Business Analysts. In addition, the Director, Digital Delivery (DDD) is responsible for producing the standards, guidelines, and policies with respect to business cases, project management and planning of projects. The DDD defines and manages development and operational projects and manages major project requests from inception to implementation. Detailed documentation regarding these processes is available to any employee who is involved or would like to know more about the processes.
Purpose
The individual must possess knowledge and expertise in the development and use of Project Management and Business Analysis methodologies, Agile expertise have direct project management and people leadership experience and have a clear understanding of human resources policies/practices and organizational change management techniques.
The goal of the DDD is to provide project management and business analysis leadership, expertise, resources, tools, and methodologies to enable Tangerine projects to execute and deliver successfully, in support of the Digital Product and Software Delivery.

Purpose
- The Director, Digital Delivery, reports to the Managing Director of Digital Wealth.
- DDD partners with the Value Realization Office to manage capacity and priorities on strategic bank initiatives focused on identifying and solving tough business problems that are impeding successful value realization.
- Leads and manages the digital product delivery leads / scrum masters / Business Analysts and ensures best in class product and software delivery through skills optimization, best practices and rigor and governance over processes and ways of work / operations.
- Establishes a continuous change program that identifies change needs, change velocity, and quality of target-state achievement; team diagnoses root cause issues and impediments that may be applicable to all parts of the business.
- Responsible for ensuring adoption and execution of annual funding process, quarterly reviews, and cross-program orchestration. Identifies cross-Product dependencies and works to ensure they are accounted for in planning.
- Responsible for method standards and practices; coaching and training development; method evolution and continuous improvement. Agile and DevOps evolution falls under this leader.
- Builds a culture of continuous innovation, establishing annual company-wide innovation events that elicit ideas for continued transformation or optimization, and putting these ideas into practice working with Product groups.

The goal of the DDD is to provide project management and business analysis leadership, expertise, resources, tools, and methodologies to enable Tangerine projects to execute and deliver successfully, in support of the Digital Product and Software Delivery.
Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:
- Provide full lifecycle project management and support in the delivery of projects and system enhancements, enabling the Tangerine portfolio of projects to be delivered on time, within budget, and remain aligned to the strategic objectives of the organization.
- Lead the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of project management procedures, metrics and tools utilized within the project portfolio to ensure consistency of delivery practices across the entire organization.
- Engage closely with the IT and Business teams to help determine the best project delivery methods as well as a reasonable delivery schedule.
- Provide regular project/portfolio updates
- Assist Leadership in timely closure of audit issues and other regulatory and compliance activities as pertains to delivery teams
- Builds and maintains solid, professional working relationships with peers, within the IT and business lines
- With regards to the provision of project portfolio management services, provide analysis and decision-making support for project and program prioritization.
- Monitor, report on, assess and initiate corrective action, when necessary, on the use and acceptance of enterprise wide of common methods, processes, tools and technologies.
- Develop and implement metrics and scorecards that will be used to measure the performance of the portfolio of projects.
- Manage the pool of EPMO project management resources and their assignment to projects and systems enhancements initiatives. Lead delivery of committed project work by allocating resources, providing guidance, and coaching to team as needed, clearing roadblocks, resolving conflicts, developing team members and managing performance.
- Collaborate with other management colleagues to provide efficient and effective resource deployment of internal and external staff to meet fluctuating project demands across the entire projects.
- Improve overall project delivery capabilities across the organization. Liaise with all levels of Tangerine resources to explore and define new and innovative ways to improve overall Tangerine project delivery. Create and sustain PM Communities of Practice and/or Communities of Excellence to further continuous improvement of PM practices across Tangerine.
- Enable effective communication and coordination with all Tangerine business, and external project stakeholders
- Collaborate with other service provider PMOs to ensure all projects are consistently managed and performance is accurately communicated to all stakeholders. Promote the use of project management methodologies within the organization.
- Participate in third party supplier selection and contract negotiation processes. Ensure that management of 3rd party contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) is done on a consistent basis during project execution.
- Embrace and ensure execution of Tangerine’s promises and leadership competencies.
- Provide input into budgeting process with responsibility of managing defined governance procedures.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy and all AML related policies, procedures, and controls within the department.
- If individual is on the Executive Team (ET), the following accountability also applies: Delegated by the President and CEO the responsibility for overseeing the execution of the Regulatory Compliance Framework including the Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Program at Tangerine as outlined in the Scotiabank Enterprise-wide Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing and Sanctions Policy.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Education/Experience
- University or College Degree or equivalent experience
- Prior experience in leading a Project Management Office
- 10+ years of project management experience with at least 5 years of managerial experience
- 5+ years of experience directly managing large projects, programs or project portfolios in an Agile / Hybrid environment
- Specialized Knowledge
- Must possess deep knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management and Business Analysis methodologies and have a clear understanding of human resources policies/practices and change management techniques
- Specialized knowledge and experience in the delivery of large programs and initiatives in digital wealth management
- Technical Skills
- Excellent knowledge of project portfolio management tools (MS Project or other) and project management processes and methodologies
- Strong understanding of Agile operating models at scale
- Strong comfort with and ability to bring clarity to ambiguity and drive programs forward in a high-pressure environment focused on acerated development
