Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division of Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Section Manager Maintenance in our Windsor, Ontario Stamping Facility. The Section Manager Maintenance is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing and management of the maintenance function to ensure productions goals are met adequately and in a timely manner . Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to teams ensuring employees performing maintenance activities are trained and qualified to perform them.
- Ensure that appropriate optimum technology, equipment, and methodology are employed.
- Monitor expenditures versus plan and manage accordingly
- Ensure effective implementation of maintenance and preventative maintenance programs and schedules.
- Continuously seek out and identify opportunities for improvement in costs, quality, customer service, health and safety and plant operations
- Establish appropriate, timely reporting system setting out progress against objectives, with follow-up action steps where necessary
- Maintains computerized maintenance management system for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment
- Maintain preventative maintenance schedule for all assets
- Manage inventory of required parts and liaison with the purchaser to ensure the appropriate levels are maintained
- Ensure the proper training is completed prior to the assignment of any tasks
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of technical and mechanical trades experience in a high paced manufacturing field or equivalent amount of engineering (civil / electrical / mechanical / industrial) experience
- Experience with management of multi-trade divisional maintenance staff or outside contractors to achieve timely completion of tasks
- Proven project and time management ability demonstrating experience coordinating with other departments/ divisions and/or external resources to ensure equipment/facilities are repaired as quickly and economically as possible
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years in a cold stamp environment
