This position is based in Canada and will not require on-site work. However, there may be occasional travel to Northbrook office required.

Purpose & Scope:

The Omni-Channel Data Lead performs a critical role with assumed accountability in the strategic evolution of the sourcing, onboarding, and management of marketing data to support the evaluation of the organization's marketing initiatives. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and accessibility of data from marketing campaigns. In this role, you are to build and cultivate trusted partnerships with groups from various areas of the company (within Strategic Insights & Analytics and outside such as with Omnichannel Strategy & Operations, Information Systems (DX), Finance, Legal, Ethics & Compliance, etc.) as well as with external vendors/suppliers. Your focus is ensuring that data is suitable for business use. Your pivotal responsibility lies in fostering effective collaboration, communication, and strategic alignment with the mentioned groups to propel the Strategic Insights & Analytics team forward in the quality and efficiency of their analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

    Data Sourcing & Acquisition:

    Responsible for Identifying, evaluating, and acquiring sources of marketing data, including campaign performance data, media spend, engagement metrics, and competitive benchmarks.

    Identify emerging data sources that can enhance marketing intelligence and competitive positioning.

    Establish and maintain relationships with third-party data providers to ensure access to high-quality, reliable marketing data.

    Partner with broader teams to identify data needs, develop a road map, and implement a structured data acquisition plan.

    Conduct due diligence to validate data quality, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.

    Data Onboarding:

    Lead the onboarding process for newly sourced data, coordinating with external vendors, Dx and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration into enterprise systems.

    Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to develop, implement, and maintain data pipelines that enable a consistent flow of marketing data.

    Ensure data is properly formatted, validated, and transformed for marketing analytics and reporting, holding external vendors accountable for data accuracy and timeliness.

    Establish data validation frameworks to assess the completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of onboarded datasets, implementing monitoring mechanisms to detect and resolve integration issues proactively.

    Partner with IT teams to ensure smooth integration of new data sources into the organization's data infrastructure.

    Clean, standardize, and transform data to align with marketing and analytical requirements.

    Create and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries and metadata documentation.

    Data Management & Governance:

    Oversee the storage, organization, and accessibility of promotional marketing data ensuring compliance with internal governance standards.

    Develop and enforce data quality standards to maintain data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.

    Partner with stakeholders to create standardized data taxonomies and classification frameworks to improve usability.

    Partner with stakeholders to transform ingested data into analytic ready formats.

    Monitor and troubleshoot data issues, implementing corrective measures when necessary, communicating data-related issues and resolutions to stakeholders.

    Provide strategic guidance on data source quality, context and usage based on business needs and analytical use cases.

    Coordinate and facilitate data source changes and communication to necessary business stakeholders.

    Assist the Data Foundation Pod in triaging new projects to determine appropriate ownership and/or engagement from the Value Teams within and outside of the Data Foundation Pod, necessary Capability teams, and potentially other Hub groups.

    Champion the adoption of Agile methodology in both project delivery and continuous integrations and continuous delivery (CI/CD) of efficient and scalable data management, reporting, and analytics solutions.

    Reporting & Automation:

    Provide regular updates on data availability, integrity, and performance to key stakeholders.

    Maintain a schedule for data delivery and loading.

    Identify and implement opportunities for process automation to enhance operational efficiency.

Stay informed on emerging industry trends and advancements in marketing data and data management, advising leadership on innovative solutions that complement and drive business growth.

Qualifications Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information/Data Science, Information Systems, or STEM field.

    10+ years of relevant experience in data management, with a focus on digital marketing datasets

    Experience in sourcing, onboarding, and managing large datasets from external vendors.

    Proficiency with a coding language (e.g. SQL, Python), MS Excel and Power Point , ETL/data processing tools.

    Exposure to and/or good understanding of Data Warehousing/Data Lakehouse platforms and technologies (e.g., AWS S3/RedShift, SQL, etc.)

    Good understanding of data stewardship and governance concepts (e.g., data ingestion, reference data management, data transformations, data quality and observability, data archiving, etc.).

    Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements as well as underlying infrastructure applications, systems, and processes. Proven experience in process mapping, process improvement, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability in taking initiative to proactively evaluate existing strategies and processes and recommend best-fit solutions when appropriate.

    Deep understanding of marketing data types (campaign data, engagement metrics, media spend) and their applications.

    Familiarity with marketing tech platforms like CM360, SA360, Meta.

    Experience working with Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.

    Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

    Proven ability to align data initiatives with business objectives, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

    Excellent organizational, project planning and business change management skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects.

    Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and influencing skills to effectively interact to a diverse audience.

    Extensive computer proficiency in other Microsoft products: Excel, VBA, Macros, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, etc.

Preferred Skills:

    Master’s Degree in Computer or Information/Data Science, Information Systems, or STEM field

    Understanding of Data models for platforms like CM360

    Pharmaceutical industry experience

    Experience working with BigQuery

Working Environment:

    This “home office” role is based in Northbrook, IL or Toronto Canada
