The challenges that await youYou will perform various technical tasks involving research and surveys necessary for the design and execution of asset maintenance work in municipal buildings or on municipal land. You will design reports, layout proposals, construction plans, cost estimates, and construction or maintenance quotes, and oversee the work on site while ensuring coordination among stakeholders and compliance with established budgets. You will participate in the development and execution of projects in collaboration with consulting firms or internal professionals.
More specifically:
- Inspects buildings and land to identify renovation and/or modification opportunities and assess their compliance with construction standards and codes, and writes inspection reports.
- Plans and coordinates with various Services and utility companies the work for the execution of projects or tasks.
- Represents the City to consultants, contractors, and suppliers for the execution of asset maintenance projects.
- Communicates, as needed, with representatives from other divisions, City Services, and/or representatives from external organizations to obtain or exchange various information related to their work.
- Writes various reports and correspondence related to their activities.
- College diploma (DEC) in building mechanics;
- Education acquired through a college diploma (DEC) in building mechanics;
- Have three (3) years of relevant experience in the role, as described in the summary above;
- Have experience in managing preventive and planned maintenance (an asset);
- Hold a valid Health and Safety on Construction Sites card (ASP);
- Possess a valid class 5 driver's license and a vehicle.
