ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
This role reports to Institute for Sustainable Food Systems Director - Kent Mullinix.
SUMMARY
The Field Staff – Sik-E-Dakh Farm School will assist in seasonal field work including harvesting, weeding, crop maintenance, and various other field tasks. This position requires someone who is a member of the Sik-E-Dakh band, passionate about regenerative agriculture, building local food systems, and food systems education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing all farm tasks including transplanting, harvesting, post processing, weeding and seeding
- Provide mentorship to community members who participate in the Sik-E-Dakh Farm School in basic farm tasks
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years farm experience
- A keen interest in small-scale, regenerative agriculture
- Strong communication skills
- Physical ability to lift 45lbs repeatedly
- Ability to work as a team
- Ability to work outside in all weather
- Valid First Aid Certificate an asset
- Salary Information
Anticipated hourly pay rate: $30
