Your area of focus.

AutoCanada is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Web Analytics Specialist to support our digital marketing and data measurement initiatives across a diverse portfolio of dealership websites. This role is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing web analytics tools—primarily Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4—to ensure accurate event tracking and actionable reporting. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in digital analytics, a proactive approach to troubleshooting, and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams. Automotive industry experience and a deep understanding of evolving data privacy standards are strong assets.


What drives your day-to-day?

  • Set up, configure, and maintain Google Tag Manager containers across multiple dealership websites.
  • Maintain and audit Google Analytics 4 (GA4) implementations to ensure the accuracy of key event tracking.
  • Build and manage custom tags, triggers, and variables to support conversion and marketing initiatives.
  • Implement and monitor Conversion APIs (e.g., Facebook CAPI, Google Enhanced Conversions) to improve event tracking accuracy and performance.
  • Collaborate with developers and third-party vendors to implement new tracking requirements.
  • Monitor data collection health and resolve tracking issues or discrepancies across all properties.
  • Build, automate, and maintain internal reporting dashboards in Google Data Studio (Looker Studio).
  • Stay up to date on platform changes, analytics trends, and evolving privacy regulations (e.g., consent mode, cookie compliance).
  • Automotive industry experience is an asset.


What are the must-haves…

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Google Data Studio (Looker Studio).
  • Strong knowledge of event-based tracking models, UTM tagging, cross-domain tracking, and dataLayer usage.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple GTM containers with minimal data duplication or loss.
  • Familiarity with Google Consent Mode, cookie compliance tools, and data privacy best practices.
  • Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for tag implementation and debugging.
  • Skilled in using tools like Tag Assistant, GA Debugger, and Chrome DevTools.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive approach to resolving issues and ensuring data integrity.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience working in the automotive industry or within dealership marketing tech stacks and ASC events.
  • Exposure to server-side tagging environments.
  • Familiarity with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) or CRM integration processes.
  • Certifications in Google Analytics, GTM, or Looker Studio.
