We are seeking a skilled Benefits Specialist who will champion and foster a positive and inclusive culture. The Benefits Specialist embodies the values of the organization by ensuring that employees are informed about their company-provided benefits and providing a positive employee experience
Reporting to the Director, HR, you will manage employee benefits plans, short-term and long-term disability leaves, and WSIB/WCB/CNESST claims. This is a fully remote position
What You Will Do:
- Administer employee benefits plans including handling employee inquiries, records, participating in audits, leading new program rollout, and managing open enrolment
- Manage short and long-term disability claims, WSIB/WCB/CNESST claims, return to work programs, and workplace accommodation programs
- Review internal processes and policies and make recommendations with a view to continuous improvement
- Create and prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for purposeful change
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including but not limited to benefits providers and WSIB/WCB/CNESST
- Participate in Human Resources programs and projects
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
- Intermediate experience in benefits administration/management, sick/disability leave management and WSIB/WCB/CNESST claims management. Candidates with strong HR administration experience including benefits and leave management will be considered
- Solid knowledge of employment legislation related to human rights and accommodation requirements; experience in multiple provinces is a definite asset
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels using a collaborative and team focused approach
- Enthusiasm for your work, creative problem-solving skills and be a role model of organizational values and time management skills
- Exceptional communication skills. You are a skilled listener, fact finder, communicator, presenter
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, business acumen, and practical experience to guide recommendations
- Working towards or holds an HR or benefits designation is an asset
- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
