This role is responsible for Vendor Risk Management function that apply to all in-scope third-party vendor engagements supporting Business Areas with assumed vendor risk management tasks. The role has ownership of all policy related documents, being a subject matter expert provide advice and guidence to Business Areas navigating through the Vendor Risk Management policy and application. This role will be a primary stackholder to vendor risk incidents (breach). The Senior Manager will lead and manage team performance.

How You Will Create Impact

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously enhance Enterprise procurement’s third-party risk management in accordance with internal policies and OSFI regulatory expectations.
  • Ensure enterprise-wide compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and supervisory guidelines related to the management of third-party and outsourced service provider risks.
  • Collaborate with business units (first line) and oversight functions (second line) to ensure consistent execution and monitoring of third-party risk controls throughout the lifecycle.
  • Lead the development and ongoing refinement of third-party risk assessment methodologies, incorporating both inherent and residual risk perspectives in alignment with the institution’s risk appetite and regulatory guidance.
  • Establish and evolve risk scoring models to evaluate third parties across multiple risk domains (e.g., operational, information security, financial, concentration, and reputational risks).
  • Ensure that risk assessments are embedded in decision-making processes and support a risk-informed approach to onboarding, contract renewal, and offboarding.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal risk stakeholders to simplify and align risk assessment activities, ensuring a consistent, proportionate, and efficient approach across business lines and risk categories.
  • Leverage data and reporting to monitor program performance, identify control gaps, and escalate key issues, ensuring documentation is audit-ready and regulatory-compliant.
  • Provide executive leadership and risk committees with clear and timely insights into the organization’s third-party risk profile, emerging risks, and associated mitigation strategies.
  • Report enterprise-wide compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and supervisory guidelines related to the management of third-party and outsourced service provider risks.

To Join Our Team

  • Post-secondary degree in business, contract law, vendor risk or other related field. Having the SCMA, CRMP, CRM would be an asset.
  • 7 years of experience in in leading staff, contract management and/or vendor management.
  • Proven success leading engaged staff.
  • Expert staying current, understanding and applying industry/regulatory requirements to support business needs.
  • Expert in managing vendor relationships.
  • Expert in assessing and managing vendor risk.
  • Proven success building relationships and collaborating.
  • Working experience owning and managing policies.
