Reporting to the Cashier Department Head (or his/her delegates), the General Assistant is responsible to provide good service to our customers by building rapport, fulfilling their requests and providing fast and accurate checkout and packing service.
T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 36 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 13 in Ontario, and 2 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.

- Greet customers by providing good customer service with smile, friendly enthusiasm
- Maintain shopping baskets and trolleys cleanliness and ensure they are placed in the proper locations
- Put returning merchandise back to sale area properly ; timely processing of fresh and frozen goods; prevent and minimize shortage
- Provide customer with proper packing services (light items on top of heavy items, separation of hot and cold, raw and cooked classification) if necessary
- Create good customer experience via delivering fast and accurate checkout service, prevent possible fraud (PLU # input, Scan merchandise, transaction discrepancies, identify counterfeit / fake cards), if necessary
- Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they are well-kept and are working appropriately; maintain checkout area cleanliness
- Keep self-updated with products location in store and all in store promotion activities, so assist other departments to provide correct responses to customers
- Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays
- Be prepared to stand for a long time and able to use work related tools in a safe manner
- Knowledge of basic work safety, Canadian currencies and essential mathematics
- Relevant experience in handling cash is preferred
