Job Description
LuminUltra is hiring a Distribution Manager to join our dynamic and growing Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity within an innovative and energetic organization.
The Distribution Manager is a critical part of the operations team and will be accountable to manage our warehouse and distribution facility located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, including managing and optimizing a team of contributors responsible for product assembly, order packing, and stock replenishment transfer orders. This role will oversee the successful management of our 3PL, inbound/outbound freight expenses, export compliance, and inventory accuracy within the distribution network. This position offers an annual salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, depending on experience.

In this role, the Distribution Manager will have key responsibilities, such as:
Leadership Responsibilities:
- As a member of the Operations Leadership team, evolve and promote corporate purpose, values, strategy, and initiatives.
- Promote excellence and accountability in all relationships between and amongst internal and external organizational stakeholders.
- Actively contribute to Business Excellence & continuous improvement efforts pertaining to Operations.
Management Responsibilities:
- Manage, develop, and align functional team members to corporate and departmental objectives through clear and measurable individual objectives supported through routine and proactive engagement.
- With Sr. Director, Operations, own the creation of and adherence to departmental objectives, priorities, and forecasts on both an annual and a quarterly cadence.
- Regularly track KPIs and metrics and report on order fulfilment performance.
- Inform and lead internal discussion related to our distribution network.
- Operate within and contribute to the success & compliance of the Quality Management System.
- Prioritize and support continuous improvement projects to ensure complete alignment of activities that will improve quality, reduce waste and drive organizational performance and efficiency.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage our global distribution network, and partners, to ensure regional delivery coverage is within expected service level agreements while managing outbound freight costs.
- Oversee the setting of outbound transportation service rates and monitor revenue.
- Lead and manage our Fredericton, NB, distribution warehouse, including a team of front-line contributors responsible for material breakdown, product assembly, order packing, and stock transfer orders.
- Work closely with the Order Fulfilment team, assisting in the creation and timely processing of order documentation (Dangerous goods, B/L’s, CERS, certificates of origin, packing lists, etc.).
- Create, manage, and maintain detailed reports and databases as required by the business.
- Manage physical receiving activities and always ensure inventory accuracy.
- Address special requirements and escalate issues to management for swift resolution.
- Contribute to the company’s Business Management System by driving continuous process improvements that enhance business compliance and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in the company export compliance program and other regulatory processes, as required.
- Take on other duties, as assigned, always striving for operational excellence and customer-centric solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree or diploma in Business, Inventory Management, Distribution, Supply Chain, or related field; or equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and education.
- 3-5 years of experience in Distribution, Warehouse Management, or Supply Chain Management.
- Proven experience leading and developing a team.
- High attention to detail, and a team player with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.
- High sense of urgency and ability to work as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- Experience with Canadian and/or international import/export documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, such as Oracle Fusion.
- Process Improvement experience, an asset.
- Experience with Canadian and/or international logistics, an asset.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 or similar environment, an asset.
