#Plains is currently looking to fill the position of Maintenance Team Leader for the Empress PPTC Pipeline. Based in Regina, SK, and reporting to the District Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate is responsible for ensuring safe execution of maintenance activities on the 933 km pipeline and facilities starting at Empress, AB and ending in Winnipeg, MB. The candidate will be accountable to ensure maximum operational efficiency, reliability, and that standards, policies, and procedures are adhered to in accordance with the corporate Operating Management System (OMS). In addition to lending technical expertise to facility operations, this role is accountable to lead the work execution management process, manage risk, assign work, manage projects, ensure regulatory compliance at provincial and federally regulated facilities, create and manage operational budgets, cost compliance, participate in the joint OHSE committee, and supervise a distributed maintenance team and contractors.

Responsibilities
- Ability to provide strong leadership, coaching and mentoring for personnel by building commitment, pride, honesty, trust and relationships in all employees
- Managing daily maintenance, in accordance with Work Execution Management Program
- Leading the hiring, orientation, performance management, and career development needs of employees in a union environment
- Being an active steward of the environment, health and safety by supporting the PMC Operations Management System
- Clear and effective ability to communicate the vision of the corporate Maintenance and Reliability programs to the site through participation in process development and governance activities
- Managing the development of equipment life cycles and maintenance long range equipment replacement/overhaul schedule through oversight of the asset criticality program
- Developing continuous improvement initiatives for the area that increase reliability, create cost savings, and develop efficiencies
- Creating, managing and monitoring key performance indicators for operations and maintenance
- Conducting analysis of reliability problems and leading RCFA teams to improve asset uptime
- Liaising with internal and external customers and auditors on daily basis
- Identify change management initiatives (challenging the status quo) and managing change management through to implementation
- Developing and managing O&M budgets and Capital budgets for areas of responsibility
- Effective use of assurance activities to ensure consistent compliance to MOC, HSE, PSM, Work Management, and other proceduralized standards are being met
- Supporting and collaborating with the Area Management Team and District Management Team
- Permanent residency within 100 km of the Regina is a condition of employment;
- Trade Certification (Millwright, Pipefitter, Electrician or Instrumentation);
- 5+ years as a certified Trades Person;
- 5+ years of leadership experience in an industrial setting, preferably in the oil and gas industry;
- Strong understanding of electrical, controls, and mechanical maintenance for process equipment, pressure vessels, pipelines, and heaters;
- Demonstrated ability to achieve operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization;
- Ability to lead teams with diverse skill sets during period of change and achieve results in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment;
- Energetic, well-organized, self-motivated with effective communication skills (verbal and written).
- Motivated with a willingness to advance to greater challenges;
- Strong commitment to safety;
- Demonstrated team player;
- Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, experience using Maximo would be considered an asset;
- Self-directed and capable of working with minimum supervision; and
- Valid driver’s license (as regular travel is required)
- Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
- Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing
- Compliance with the Company’s requirement to be clean shaven to ensure proper fit of emergency PPE
