Forklift Operator/General Labourer - Surrey Reload

Arrow's Surrey Reload division is looking to hire a Forklift Operator/General Labourer to assist with shipping and receiving, operate a forklift, and perform general labourer duties in the warehouse and yard. Experience working in a Parts Distribution Centre is strongly preferred.

Reporting to the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, the Forklift Operator/General Labourer will be responsible for operating a forklift, performing general labourer duties in the yard and the warehouse, receive inventory in the warehouse, inputting data in an inventory system, sort the inventory, pack, and ship the inventory.

Responsibilities include

• Operate forklifts to handle various weight capacities (under and over 12,000lbs.).
• Support inventory control (inbound/outbound/on ground) and accurately document.
• Generate shipping labels and documents
• Load shipments onto delivery trucks
• Coordinate with carriers for outgoing shipments
• Pick products based on order forms or digital instructions
• Pack items securely for shipping, following packaging standards
• Label packages correctly with shipping information
• Inspect goods for damage and verify contents match purchase orders
• Label, sort, and store materials in designated areas
• Use scanners or inventory systems to log received itemsPrepare orders for courier pickup or freight shipmentEnsure outgoing products meet quality and accuracy standardsAssist with general yard clean up/maintenance.
• Unload trucks and check incoming shipments
• Conduct regular inventory counts (cycle counts)
• Update stock levels in warehouse management software (WMS)
• Identify and report stock discrepancies
• Rotate stock to maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) method
• Inspect and verify product condition to ensure cleanliness and compliance with loading procedures.
• Work in adherence to all safe work practices, procedures, as well as all regulatory requirements.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

• Experience operating a forklift
• Experience working in a Parts Distribution Centre is strongly preferred
• Experience using invetory management systems
• Experience working in a warehouse, sorting, packing, and shipping
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps, heat, wind)
• Comfortable working at heights
• Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
• Experience loading and unloading commodities from trucks or railcars an asset
